The Ramifications of New Abortion Legislation
Terry talks to activists on both sides of the abortion debate:
1) Pro-choice activist Kathryn "Kitty" Kolbert. She is an attorney who argued against Pennsylvania's restrictive abortion law in the Supreme Court last year. This summer, she founded the Center for Reproductive Law And Policy to focus on reproductive rights world wide.
2) Pro-life activist Helen Alvare is an attorney who is Director of Planning and Information for Pro-Life Activities at the National Conference of Catholic Bishops. She talks about how the pro-life movement is re-grouping in light of the President Clinton's pro-choice stance. Alvare considers herself an anti-abortion feminist and has worked to get pro-life women candidates elected.
